The Cast Metals Federation is the single voice for the UK Castings Industry, representing the interests of foundries and foundry suppliers.

CMF Members come from every part industry and produce around 85% of the output of UK castings industry.  Our 120 foundry Members, ranging from global foundry groups to small jobbing foundries or specialist suppliers, produce precision finished parts and assemblies with a value of over £2 billion annually in any size, shape, metal and weight, using all casting processes.  The industry supplies parts for industries including automotive, aerospace, power generation, rail, defence, medical and marine – indeed all areas of modern life.

For manufacturers across world seeking the ‘Best of British Casting’, the CMF provides a single point of contact whether for sourcing casting for every application and market sector, or general information on the activities of the UK foundry industry.

The CMF promotes the UK castings industry as a whole, influencing discussions with government bodies, negotiating and consulting on UK and European legislation that affects the whole sector.  We strive to represent Member’s interests to Government, local government, public bodies and professional institutes.

Based in the heart of the West Midlands and operating from the National Metalforming Centre, our aim is to help ensure that the needs of UK foundries, foundry suppliers and castings buyers are met.
