“Founded in Milan in 1937, Mapei is today the world leader in the production of adhesives and chemical products for the building industry. We implemented our internationalisation strategy in the 1960’s and this has enabled us to be closer to the needs of regional markets and reduce transport costs to a minimum. The Group now has 87 subsidiaries with 81 production facilities in 35 countries. We have always placed a lot of emphasis on research. In fact, we channel 5% of annual turnover into Research & Development and 70% of our research work is aimed at the development of eco-sustainable and eco-compatible products, our development of solvent-free products dates back to the 1970’s.

MAPEI UK

MAPEI manufactures a wide range of products at our Halesowen plant, near Birmingham. 

Established in 1989, Mapei UK Limited moved to the West Midlands in 1999, and in 2004 cemented its commitment to the UK market with the completion of a brand new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Halesowen, near Birmingham in the West Midlands.

The UK headquarters is Mapei’s 47th manufacturing plant worldwide. The building accommodates manufacturing, stock, marketing, sales and technical services – all dedicated to the provision of efficient and friendly customer service – all under one roof. This 7.5 acre site is home to on-site training facilities, holding regular training and educational sessions.

Manufacturing facilities at Halesowen are capable of producing 103,000 tonnes of product annually. Over 150 product SKU’s are manufactured in the U.K. at the 24 hour operational site. Mapei UK employ over 220 members of staff to provide support and assistance to an ever increasing customer base of more than 700.

In 2018 Mapei acquired a new warehousing facility and training centre near to Head Office. MAPEI ACADEMY hosts training sessions across all product lines and is available for bespoke customer bookings.

Mapei Technical Services is renowned for it’s excellence, offering NBS Specifications, on-site support and advice throughout the project. Available Mon-Fri 7am – 7pm.

MAPEI WORLD London City is our Specification Centre in Clerkenwell and is available for drop-in consultations and as a base for CPD presentations.”
