Algar Air had an unconventional beginning. Husband and wife Geoffrey and Patricia Algar both worked as part of a compressed air business, Geoffrey as a self-employed engineer and Patricia in accounts. But when Patricia broke her arm and was unable to work, Geoffrey announced, “Well, if you’re not going back into work, neither am I.”
They launched their own compressed air business there and then, with Geoffrey as chief (and only) engineer, and Patricia looking after the admin. That was 1984.
Today, Algar Air is still a family owned and run business, with brother and sister Simone and Stephen continuing the traditions and values established by their parents.
The business has grown and moved premises occasionally to keep up with expanding demand and staffing levels, but everything that brought Algar Air this far is still at the core of the company: the pride in our work and in the relationships we build with our customers. Our commitment to the skills of our people and the standards of our work. The flexibility of being able to look after your compressed air system and every other part of your manufacturing/servicing set-up. And the same level of commitment to every client, big or small.
